Will the computer hog my chips when I'm away?

I was about to go home for the holidays and had this question nagging my mind - do computers hibernate during winter and hog all the chips while I'm gone?

When I leave my PC and return, I see a message "this computer is in use and has been locked". How can it be used when the PC is locked?

I've been uploading so much stuff but all I see on top of the computer is dust! Where do these uploaded docs go? Does it go to someone's mail or land up in a post office???

Windows installer...do you mean the carpenter?

It said the windows installer service could not be accessed. Is it referring to my carpenter who put up these windows out here or is there a new service for that?

Pressing Windows and Pause Break could break windows?

Windows and Pause Break keys need to be pressed together to bring up system information? I hope I'm not breaking Windows with this!

Can't even show the correct time and date!

I don't know how I can be confident about its ability when it can hardly show the correct date and shows 1 Jan 1900 every chance it gets!
